Neng Jr.'s is the first Filipinx restaurant of its kind in Asheville, NC. Opened on July 1st, 2022, the former arcade room turned intimate dining room has an open kitchen and only 18 seats. Our team prides itself on our open invitation and integrated style of service, introducing Filipinx traditions and heritage to those that have not experienced the complexities of this understated global cuisine. We dedicate ourselves to researching food pathways, origins, and overlap with the history and hospitality of the American South with Filipinx vibrance. Our aim is to continue to evolve as a restaurant, care for our employees, and make changes as our world changes.
Neng Jr's is the first project by Chef/Owner Silver Iocovozzi and his husband Cherry Iocovozzi. Neng Jr. 's has been named a Best New Restaurant by Bon Appetit, Esquire, the New York Times and Eaters Carolina. Neng Jr. 's was a 2023 James Beard Finalist for Best New Restaurant. Silver has been named Esquire’s Rising Star Chef of 2022, a Food and Wine Best New Chef in 2024, and a 2025 finalist in the category of Best Chef Southeast by the James Beard Foundation.
